ASTRO is accepting applications from U.S. based early-career researchers for the 2022 Grant and Fellowship Program. New for 2022, is the ASTRO-LUNGevity residents/fellows seed grant to support junior researchers conducting research to benefit patients with lung cancer. This is in addition to ASTRO’s existing seed grants for projects focused on either physics (co-sponsored by AAPM), biology, or general radiation oncology (RO) related research. In partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), the 2022 ASTRO-BCRF Career Development Award is dedicated to early-stage investigators who are either members of racial and/or ethnic groups traditionally excluded in academic medicine and biomedical research or who are studying health disparities to advance breast cancer and RO research. ASTRO has also partnered with companies to offer ASTRO - Industry Radiation Oncology Research Training Fellowships that provide residents or other trainees with real-world training on multiple projects (e.g., product development, clinical trial design, and treatment planning) with either AstraZeneca, Nanobiotix, Novocure or Varian. Anyone interested in learning more about the Fellowship Program can register here for a free web session (3 Dec; 4-5 p.m. ET) where prior and current fellows will share their industry training experiences and staff will outline the 2022 fellowship opportunities.
